Stickman Spear Run

A free online stickman game — no download, no sign-up

Your stick figure is already running. Rocks roll up out of the dusk and club-swinging rivals charge straight at you — jump the stones, run your spear through anyone in the way, and see how far you get before the pace beats you. Every stride, leap and spear thrust is animated live, frame by frame, so the little fellow moves like a character rather than a sprite.

Space / ↑ = Jump · F / → = Spear strike

How to play

Controls

Space ↑ W
Jump. Press it a moment before you land and the next jump fires the instant your feet touch down.
F → J
Spear strike. The long spear snaps forward in a straight thrust, then comes back to the shoulder. Its reach is long, but not endless — strike as the enemy steps into range.
Touch
Tap the left half of the stage to jump, the right half to strike. The Jump and Spear Strike buttons under the stage do the same.
Start
Press Space or tap the stage. After a fall, the same key starts a new run.

Prefer reduced motion? The stage starts paused if your system asks for it — press Play or start a run whenever you are ready.

Getting a high score

Tips & Scoring

Scoring. Distance earns points steadily, and every enemy your spear knocks down is worth 25 more. Your best score is kept in this browser, so you can come back and try to beat it.

Rocks can only be jumped. Take off a little early rather than late — the stick figure tucks its legs at the top of the arc, and that is where you clear the tallest stones. After twenty seconds or so, rocks start arriving in pairs; one well-timed jump carries you over both.

Enemies are too tall to jump, so the spear is your only answer. The tip reaches well ahead of you — strike when an enemy is about two body-lengths away, and the thrust lands as it walks in. Strike too early and you are still recovering when it arrives; there is a short pause between thrusts.

Speed climbs for about the first minute. The stride gets longer and the cadence quicker, but the timing of your jump never changes, so the trick is to start each jump from the same distance on screen rather than the same moment in your head.

Second tab

The Motion Lab

Press Motion Lab under the stage to step out of the game and watch the stick figure on its own. Nothing here is a sprite sheet: the legs are solved with two-bone inverse kinematics, the arms swing from keyframe tracks, the hair trails on a small verlet chain, and the ground scrolls at exactly stride × cadence ÷ duty factor so the planted foot never slides.

In the lab, keys 1–4 switch between walk, run, throw and jump, 5 shoulders a long spear and 6 runs a seventeen-pose spear form with sweeps, thrusts and held stances. Space fires a single throw or jump.

Questions

FAQ

Is Stickman Spear Run free?

Yes. It is completely free, runs in your browser and has no ads, no sign-up and nothing to download.

Can I play it on my phone?

Yes. Tap the left half of the stage to jump and the right half to strike with your spear, or use the Jump and Strike buttons under the stage. It works in any modern mobile browser.

How is the score calculated?

You earn one point for every few steps you run, plus 25 points for each enemy your spear knocks down. Your best score is saved in this browser.

Why can't I strike again straight away?

Each thrust takes a moment to recover: the spear snaps forward, then has to come back to the shoulder before the next strike. Time it so the enemy walks onto the spear tip.

Does it get harder?

Yes. The run speeds up for the first minute or so, enemies show up more often, and after about twenty seconds rocks start arriving in pairs.

What is the Motion Lab tab?

The Motion Lab is the same stick figure without the game: switch between walk, run, throw, jump and a seventeen-pose spear form to watch the procedural animation up close.
